Will you accept matching donations from corporations for Tsunami Relief Efforts ?

Yes, Association for India's Development (AID) accepts matching donations from corporations. A number of US companies match donations made by their employees, and it's an easy way to double your contribution. You can check with your company's Human Resources dept. if it matches donations.

How does the matching donation process work ?

• Obtain a matching donation form from your employer's HR dept.. Please fill out the necessary information such as donation amount, donation date, the purpose of the donation (for eg. Tsunami Relief Effort), and the charity to which the donation was made (Association for India's Development), and sign the form. You may need information such as AID's contact information and address or tax id number.

AID, Inc. is registered with the US Federal Government as a non-profit charitable corporation under the category 501(C)(3). Its federal Tax-ID is 04-3652609.

You can leave out the section that needs to be completed by the charity.

Some companies have online matching forms. The process of filling them is very much the same.

Fax matching donations letters to 301-314-9465 (Please mention "Attn: AID") 

For online matching forms, this step may be unnecessary, your employer will mail the form to us.

• We will verify your donation and provide AID's particulars in the NGO information section, including proof of our non-profit status and send it back to your employer.

• Your employer will send us a check for the amount that is matched, and in most cases notify you as well.

Will the matching funds be used for Tsunami Relief Efforts?

Yes, the matching funds will be used for Tsunami relief efforts. In fact in most cases corporations require that the matching funds be used for the same purpose as the original donation.

My company matches donations, but does not have AID in the organization list. What should I do ?
